We’ve Got The Power (For Now) But No Water

Grace in Facilities sent this little FYI. Denizens of Anderson please take note.

The Anderson Complex will be without power this Saturday, August 16, 2008, from 6:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. The Department of Utilities will be doing some work on power poles outside the building and that is why the shut-down needs to happen.

If you have any concerns regarding this shut-down of power, please notify Gary Strong immediately at 720-6603 as this is planned to take place.

Personally, I’m glad it’s only for two hours. Any longer and I’d start to worry about Dr. Fritz’ turtle. The ‘lil fella gets grumpy if he misses “This Old Shell” on PBS.

EDITED TO ADD: Luke from IT (who will bring balance to the Force) advises Anderson folk to turn off their computers, but not to worry about unplugging them.

EDITED AGAIN TO ADD: Looks like Fremont needed to shut Anderson’s water off for 30 minutes or so due to an emergency down the street. Grace tells me it should be back up by noon.

Invitation to the Campus Community

There will be some folks with a video camera running around campus today.

Relax, it’s not the TMZ paprazzi.

This crew is putting together a welcome video for Warrior Welcome Days and they want you to take part.

If you see this motley looking pack, be sure to stop and offer your greetings to the crop of incoming First-Year Students. The more faculty and staff that participate, the better the video can be.

Paving Work Limits Access to Swanson Hall

FYI, Warriors…

There is some paving repair work being done on the east entrance to Swanson Hall. No big deal, but please use the west entrance for the time being.

FBG is also doing some floor waxing at the same time, but they promise to keep access open for all classes and staff.

Just keep an eye out for detour signs and you’ll get to class just fine.
