Congratulacion, Dr. Valle De Anton

Midland foreign language professor, Dr. Antonio Valle de Anton was recently re-elected to the board of the Nebraska Association for Translators and Interpreters.

As if that were not honor enough, the NATI board also elected Dr. Valle de Anton to the presidency of the group.

WarriorWay commends Antonio on his commitment to serve his field outside the classroom. In addition to helping serve the community, his work on this board also benefits his students by ensuring that he not only is abreast of the needs and issues facing the translator community, he’s helping craft that policy.

Another game, another win, another player honored

Continuing the streak, this week’s GPAC Defensive player of the Week is Midland’s own Eric Frenzen.

Linebacker extraordinaire, Frenzen made seven solo tackles, assisted on six more… Oh, and sealed the deal against Doane by picking off a pass with 24 seconds left.

Not bad for an afternoon’s work.

UNO honors Midland alumni, trustee

The University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Arts and Sciences has bestowed its Alumni Excellence in Teaching Award upon Dr. Steven Bullock, an assistant professor of political science.

Oh, he’s also an Alumni of Midland Lutheran College who serves on our Board of Trustees.

And most importantly… He’s written a book on baseball. How cool is that?

Alumni honored for volunteer work

Jim Weblemoe (Class of ’39) was honored for his volunteer work with the HELP of Ojai group.

HELP of Ojai provides services to the less fortunate.

Weblemoe’s Warrior Spirit drives him to continue to serve, from building welding and carpentry shops to installing locks, fixing trailers, repairing buildings, and assembling tables… and “whatever else needs to be done,” he told a local reporter.
