New survey looks at concerns of first-year college students

“More first-year college students have concerns about their ability to finance college than at any time since 1971, according to the CIRP Freshman Survey, UCLA’s annual survey of the nation’s entering students at four-year colleges and universities.”

Fremont High hosting financial aid seminar

Fremont High School will he hosting a college financial aid seminar, Monday, Oct. 13.

If you’re looking at attending Midland, or have a friend or sibling interested, this is a great place to get help with your financial aid application.

Applying for aid is not difficult, but there are several steps and stages. Something as simple as a typo or skipped line can delay the processing of your application, so getting some help never hurts.

The Fremont High School Guidance Department will host a College Planning/Financial Aid Seminar at

7 p.m. Monday in the high school cafeteria.

This meeting will help parents of high school students locate sources of post-secondary school (two- or four-year) funding and explain proper forms and deadlines for obtaining aid.

Scholarship information also will be available. The seminar is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Fremont High School Guidance Department at 727-3056.
